Colorectal and General Surgeon
Areas of Expertise: Colorectal surgery, laparoscopic or open gallbladder surgery, laparoscopic or open hernia repairs, colonoscopy and gastroscopy, and a wide range of general surgical problems.
John qualified as a consultant surgeon in 2008 and moved from a busy university hospital in the UK to Whangarei in 2012.
He has served as the Head of Department, been involved in the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in the Rural Section, and spent time as an Educational Supervisor for surgical trainees. He currently works in the public and private sectors, available to see patients for a range of issues, including but not limited to his particular skills in laparoscopic surgery, colorectal problems, and endoscopy.
John works out of Northland Surgical & Endoscopy rooms at 10 Islington Street and operates at Kensington Hospital for endoscopy and general cases on Monday and Tuesdays.
Consulting Times: Tuesday and Friday mornings
Operating Times: Monday afternoon, Tuesdays.
