Mr Will Anderson
Breast, Skin and General Surgeon

Areas of Expertise: General surgery, breast surgery and breast disease, melanoma and non-melanoma skin surgery, gall bladder surgery, open and laparoscopic hernia surgery and gastroscopy.

Will has been a consultant General Surgeon at Whangarei Hospital since 2022, where he has taken on leading roles in both skin and breast cancer services. Will began his medical journey in Yorkshire, UK, where he completed his undergraduate training at the University of Leeds before working as a junior doctor at St James University Hospital. He then ventured to New Zealand for a year abroad and decided to stay. He completed specialty training in New Zealand, earning his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

To further refine his skills, Will completed three fellowship years in Australia, working in Darwin, Geelong, and the Gold Coast. These years provided him with invaluable experience in cutaneous oncology, minimally invasive hernia surgery, and oncoplastic breast surgery, including implant reconstruction.

Will is happy to treat a range of general surgical problems including open and minimally invasive hernia surgery, gall bladder surgery and endoscopy. Having completed a 2 year BreastSurgANZ fellowship Will has a special interest in all aspects of breast surgery and reconstruction as well as melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer.
